Directions, prices and opening hours

Special opening hours during the vacations

The memorial will be closed from April 18 to 21. We look forward to welcoming you back to our usual opening hours from April 22. We wish you all happy holidays.


Opening hours


Monday closed

Tuesday – Friday
10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday
1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The memorial is closed on public holidays. Further closing times can be found here (below the german closing times)

Animals are not permitted. Assistance dogs and guide dogs are exempt from this rule.

Most parts of the site are accessible. A lift is available. However, please note that some areas are only accessible via stairs. This specifically applies to the "hidden places" special tour.

Adults: EUR 8.00
(per person)

Reduced: EUR 5.00
(pupils, students, pensioners, severely disabled persons, recipients of unemployment benefit/unemployment benefit II)

Guided tour: EUR 45.00*
up to a max. of 25 persons, duration approx. 90 minutes
Guided tours with a contemporary witness: EUR 90.00*
up to a max. of 25 persons, duration: approx. 2 hours
Guided tours through hidden places: EUR 25.00*
per person, up to a max. of 10 persons, duration: approx. 2 hours

*plus entrance fee

Guided tours are only available by prior arrangement by calling  +49 (0) 355 / 290 133-11 or sending an e-mail to info@menschenrechtszentrum-cottbus.de. Guided tours in English or simple German language are also possible by prior arrangement.

Only cash payments are possible on site.

By car

from Leipzig/Dresden: A 14 or A13 to motorway junction Spreewald, then A 15 to Cottbus-Süd exit, then B 168 to Hermann-Löns-Straße, then turn left into Bautzener Straße.

from Berlin: A 113 or A 13 towards Dresden as far as the Spreewald motorway junction, then A 15 as far as the Cottbus-Süd exit, then B 168 as far as Hermann-Löns-Straße, then turn left into Bautzener Straße.

By train to Cottbus main station

In Cottbus by public transport

take tram 1, 3 or 4 to Görlitzer Str., bus 9, 25, 32, 41, 3N or 4N to Görlitzer Str., then approx. 7 min walk (600m)
